This is a 10-minute CPD (or 30-minute training if you’re new to ECGs) slideshow which introduces the relationship between the heart muscle, the electrical impulses through the heart, how they affect contraction to squeeze blood out, and how this looks on an ECG.
The slideshow goes on to describe how the different waves on an ECG relate to a very specific pattern of contraction in a healthy heart, and what it looks like when this goes wrong.
And it ends with a selection of common ECGs to help you with some pattern recognition.
This CPD is aimed at non-specialist clinicians, and is only suitable as a quick refresher for anyone who regularly reads ECGs.
